Redmi K100 Leaks: What’s Confirmed, What’s Still a Rumor, and Which One to Wait For
Leak season for the Redmi K100 series has produced two different battery figures, at least three model names, and a Geekbench listing that may or may not belong to the phone everyone’s talking about. Most coverage blends all of that into one clean spec sheet. I want to pull it apart instead, because the gap between confirmed and rumored details tells you more about which K100 model to actually wait for than another feature list ever will.
What Redmi Has Actually Confirmed
Redmi posted official details on Weibo, and these numbers carry real weight. The K100 Pro runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V chipset, paired with a 6.59-inch display. Redmi also confirmed a triple rear camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, backed by an ultrawide lens and a telephoto sensor that supports 10cm macro shots.
On battery, Redmi’s own post lists an 8,580mAh cell built with 26 percent ultra-high silicon-carbon content. Charging tops out at 100W wired and 50W wireless, with 27W wired reverse charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging thrown in.
The K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max both launch in China on August 11. Redmi confirmed the Pro Max separately, specifying a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel and the same triple-camera layout as the Pro.
What’s Still Just a Rumor
A separate wave of reports, sourced from tipsters rather than Redmi directly, paints a slightly different picture. These claims put the standard K100’s battery at 8,500mAh with wireless charging support, and suggest the Pro Max variant could carry a larger 9,000mAh cell instead.
The same leaks describe a 185Hz OLED display and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor across the lineup, plus IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance. The main camera on this phone features a 200MP main sensor, plus a 50MP macro telephoto camera. For landscape lovers, the 50MP ultrawide lens is highly desirable.
A device carrying model number M511CD also surfaced on Geekbench, scoring 3,429 points in single-core testing and 10,461 in multi-core testing. Nobody has confirmed this listing actually belongs to the K100 series, though the timing lines up closely with the ChinaJoy 2026 reveal and a prior 3C certification showing 100W charging support.
Why the Battery Numbers Don’t Match
Here’s the detail most articles skip past: 8,500mAh and 8,580mAh aren’t the same figure, even though they’ve both been reported as “the K100 battery.” Early tipster leaks often round or estimate capacity before a company finalizes the spec. Redmi’s own Weibo post, published closer to launch, gives the more precise 8,580mAh number.
That gap matters beyond just this phone. I’ve followed enough of these leak cycles to trust official brand posts and regulatory certifications over Geekbench listings and tipster estimates, every time they conflict. Certification bodies and the brand’s own social accounts get the final numbers right far more consistently than early-stage rumors do.
My Take: Which K100 Is Worth Waiting For
If raw performance and camera flexibility top your list, the K100 Pro Max looks like the strongest bet, assuming that larger battery and periscope telephoto lens survive to launch day. Redmi has already confirmed its chipset and screen size directly, which lowers the risk of last-minute disappointment.
If you’re budget-conscious and eyeing the standard K100 instead, wait for official confirmation before assuming wireless charging ships on that model. Nothing from Redmi’s own channels has confirmed that feature yet, and rumor-stage claims about entry-level variants get trimmed at launch more often than flagship claims do, in my experience tracking these releases.
Either way, August 11 settles most of this. Until then, treat the Weibo posts and 3C certification as fact, and treat everything else as a reasonable guess.
